Description

A simple jersey dress that I fitted to my curves (I don’t like to wear potato sacks…) based on the pattern 108 from Burda 04/2013.
My very first jersey dress and I’m in love with this fabric! :-)

Love how it fits and that cute anchor detaiil in the centre! Welcome to burdatyle, by the way :)

I think your dress is really lovely and I really like how you have fitted it to your figure. I have made this pattern in a crepe and it looks boxy on me and really needs a belt to give it some shape. I really like the neck line on this dress so I think I will make it again in jersey and do what you have done and fit it to my figure so that I won’t need a belt. Good luck with sewing more jersey fabrics; they aren’t that hard once you know the rules and you will really enjoy wearing jersey as it is so comfortable.

Thank you very much! Yes, jersey turned out not to be so scary as I thought, especially when I tried the elastic stitches my machine can do. :-)
I think I’ll sew this dress again but will cut the smaller size and add an elastic band in the waist.

Wow that is a beautiful dress. I could never imagine that pattern in a jersey fabric. It looks fantastic. Great job!

Very flattering for your curves:) The fabric is wonderful, you look beautiful and that brooch adds a playful note.

Thank you very much! I like the original version of that dress on the model in Burda, but this one on me. :-)

Thank you! The shoes are BATA from a few seasons ago, very high but surprisingly comfortable. :-)

Thank you! I want to live in this fabric, it’s very soft and comfortable. And the neckline was the element that drew me to this pattern. :-)

Thank you! I agree that it’s a nice pattern, I will definitely make another dress from it, I love the neckline pleats. :-) Must check your versions!
