Description

My brother and wife are expecting a baby girl, and I am getting ready.

The dress above started as a skirt my daughter had as a teen . I followed this tutorial: http://www.ourlifeisbeautiful.com/2010/09/diy-pleated-dress.html.
The beginning was simple: I removed two panels from the sides, closed the new side seams and inserted elastic into the sleeves cuffs.

But in the original tutorial, the waist band remined untouched and turned into the collar. Making a baby dress, I could not keep the original waist band, as it was too large and also too stiff to gather. So I had to take it apart completely, and sew a new, neater and smaller collar.

She’ll be the dressiest little girl ever!
