I made up this Tessuti Fabrics black cotton/nylon lace in the Linda skirt pattern for my daughter. I altered the pattern slightly by making the circular waist larger, to be gathered onto the waistband – this added fullness to the skirt and was ideal as I didn’t want to line the skirt. I also cut the waistband in two pieces to add a gathered frill to the top, to give a high waisted look.
The lace was perfect to leave raw edged at the hem…I was worried baby locking the edge (like to ruffle) would be too fussy.
Instead of interfacing the band I basted silk organza to both sides of the waistband. Do you think a self-covered skinny belt made up in this lace….would be an idea?

Wow! This is beautiful! How much larger did you have to make the waist to get such a fabulous full skirt?

Hi Victoria, sorry for the late reply! I simply lowered to waistline to make it bigger and then measured down the desired length from there.
I measured the waist and added in just a little under that amount again….the more you add in the more lovely fullness you add to this skirt. Goodluck.

Great job! Love the style, could almost see a reuse of fabric from curtain material with this one.

I think a belt would be great, it would really complete the skirt. Love the lace. God bless Tessuti’s.
