Lacey Skirt

A simple elastic waisted skirt. I didn’t use any pattern, just winged it. Therefore I had some trouble making it fitted, as well as making it able to fit over my bum… The top lace layer stretches pretty easily with the elastic but the inside cotton obvously does not, and i didnt want the inside layer to be fuller. I don’t think I’ll be able to wear it to a bar or club because at the end of a night I might just rip it off or cut it off in frustration of not being able to get out.
I am just a beginner so if you have any ideas or tips on how to improve, please please share!

Material Notes

I got the lace from an all-lace dress I found at value village that was too big for me (plus how does one wear a piece of lace from head to toe, what do you wear under/ with that?!) So I took the bottom portion of it and made this skirt. The skirt underneath is cotton. Elastic on top!

it looks super cute! If you want to fix the lining, try re-doing it with a piece of jersey/knit fabric just make sure that the stretch is across the width (but fabric that stretches width and length wise would probably be even better)
