After evaluating my wardrobe I came to the realisation that I didn’t have a nice going out dress. Sure I have nice dresses, but usually dress it up with funky coloured tights. So I decided to make a lacey version of the Macaron dress.
I underlined the skirt, bodice and waistband with white cotton to preserve my modesty, and kept it sheer on the yoke. I finished the neck line and arm holes with black bias binding.
The pattern is so easy to follow, I love Colette for their beautiful packaging and clear instructions. I would definitely make this again though probably with a bigger waist – I think the pleats in the back give me a ‘shelf bum’
I’m so pleased with the final product, the perfect excuse for a good old night out. Oh well….
