Description

Mini Tank Dress – BurdaStyle 03/2011 #133A

This was a quick stitch up; its a sheer cover-up dress, preferably for lounging around in at home or for the beach, as the sides and racer-back are revealing. I got the lovely sari-like stretch fabric from a charity store, a remnant which I was almost reluctant to chop up lol. I didn’t hem the bottom up because it already was finished nicely, and I sewed all hems and edges using a long straight stitch with stretch factored in. It may have been quick for me to sew this as I didn’t finish the inside seams with zigzag stitch, because this type of material doesn’t fray, but I wonder if it is good practice to still do so to ward off wear and tear over time. Taken in my Auntie’s garden. Location: Parnell.

Material Notes

blue sheer knit fabric with sari-like lacey glittery pattern and 4 way stretch.

Nice tank. Big armholes. It will be great, wearing sport bra inside and cover this lovely airily tank for running.
