Lace Vietnamese Ao Dai

Added Feb 23, 2014

Austin, United S...

A self drafted Vietnamese Ao Dai traditionally worn with soft flowy pants. Instead of lining or underlining the tunic, I made a jumpsuit to wear underneath. The tunic is made of embroidered lace, and the jumpsuit is made of silk charmeuse. I made this as my mother-of-the-groom dress a few years back and I was quite happy how it turned out.

Sorry for the picture quality, I’m too lazy to go find the original picture files so I just scanned the old photos.

Material Notes

Dress – Embroidered lace
Jumpsuit – silk charmeuse

Thanks. I cut the scalloped lace border and hand applique it along the neck line.
