I originally made this blouse as a dress more than a year ago, from a 1955 mail order pattern I picked up on eBay.
I didn’t end up liking the skirt (it had 8 gores=way too many seams), so I cut off the the blouse section for future use. It gradually sunk to the bottom of my “fix this” pile. Last weekend I dug it out and sewed a fringe of black lace along the unfinished bottom edge. Et voilà! A saucy little number, with minimal extra work.

I haven’t seen your blog post on this one (cool blog btw) so I can’t refer to the 1955 pattern, Olé!

Super. Those changes you made work really well, looks much better proportioned with the narrow skirt.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree, something about the gored skirt made the waist look too long.
