THE SKIRT: I really like to use curtaining, so I layered some lace curtaining for this high waisted skirt.
THE TOP: Ever since purchasing these Bakelite orange buttons at an antique show I have been waiting to add them to a garment. I finally took the leap and used them on this top. I added a flounce to the waistline (I will be using these more often) and closed the top with some small buttons.
lace curtaining; Bakelite buttons, navy blend

Perfect setting to display this beautiful little set. Your skills draw attention to all the right places. Dainty, yet shouts of springtime in the most natural way!

WOW! Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it! I am totally loving your teddy bears, particularly Phileas. The old cashmere wool coat works a treat with the little fellow.

Thanks! I am really loving your Frivolous with Flounces project. I was thinking about making something similar, but with a big bow instead, but perhaps you have convinced me to have a crack at the flounce. Thanks again!

What a cute outfit! I love the contrasting buttons. The lace skirt is just beautiful and the flounces on the shirt are really flattering. Well done.

Thanks for the comment. I designed it myself. I made it from my basic pattern bodice and then added a flounce to the waist and played with the sleeves. Perhaps I will make another one and post it as a tutorial. Thanks again

Thanks! Curtains are definitely a good way to go. I like the dress that you made from the floral curtains. I agree, a problem with them is that they can be too thick. But they definitely make a unique outfit. thanks again
