This is my version of the 60’s Dress from Alexandra. I added a cm to each paternpiece to make it my size.
I used the patern for a underdress in a champagne color and the black lace dress and I’ve put them together. The patern was easy to work with and I like the result!

Material Notes

I used silk for the underdress and lace for the dress

Very nice dress. Last week I saw a lady wearing a similar dress here at the building where I work and the dress looked beautiful on her as well. I love lace!!

Very pretty. I have purchased fabric to do something similar, but I am not really sure how to do it since the pattern is just for the dress. Do you just make the lace portion of the dress a little bigger than the underdress portion and sew it together?

Thank you! The lace portion of the dress is almost the same size as the underdress. I’ve made the lace portion just a little bit longer at the bottom and a reallky small bit wider at the bottem.
I’ve made both portions the same size, because then it’s fits correctly around the neckline. The underdress doesn’t have sleeves so if there’s anything different between the underdress and the lace dress, it doesn’t show that much.
The two dresses are attached to each other at the neckline and at the shoulders.
I hope this helped a bit and goodluck with your dress!
