Description

I absolutely love capes! They’re so whimsical and cozy.

This particular cape was inspired by the one worn by a character in the film Dans Paris, which is also quite cozy and whimsical:) I made it using New Look 6227. The cape, by the way, ended up looking nothing like the cape in the movie, but I still think of that one when I’m wearing it:)

In terms of the pattern, I highly recommend it. I haven’t sewn with New Look very much before, but I plan to do more of it after trying this one. Instructions were easy to follow, but challenging enough to keep my interest.

Hi, I was looking a long time for a wearable cape pattern, finally found New Look 6227 and was now curious to see others’ projects based on this pattern. Yours is wonderful and now I am totally convinced, that’s MY pattern. Normally I don’t like capes that look like wearing a straight jacket, yours look so comfortable and stylish :-D Thanks for showing, Petra

Glad my project helped lead you to this pattern:) It was great fun and the end result is very wearable…completely appropriate for real life. I’m very happy with my cape -it fits great, super comfy, and I always seem to get compliments when wearing it.

Good luck and I"ll love to see a pic of yours once it’s done!
