My first go at something from these amazing intruging books. It has taking me a while to pick the first pattern to try, and this is the one that won the lotto draw! So far this is just the toile. I made one change to the pattern. In the book there is a box pleat in the centre front, but I left this off. I added 6cm flare to the centre front seam to match the side seams instead. Once the toile was fitted I recon I can cut this away. The dress doesn’t need any more fullness!
Now I need to chose a fashion fabric and finish it off.

Great start. One of the best things about those books is you can do it your way. Less a set of rules and more concept. Look forward to seeing the completed dress.

Nice, I liked it, it’s good to hide unwanted tummy (-: ! :-) …

It probably would be, and could make a decent maternity dress too! Just need to dip the front hem a bit to allow for the rise when the tummy gets big. Bonus!
