This may sound silly, but untill recently, I couldn’t knit. Of course, there had been one attempt at knitting when I was about 8 years old, but I gave up quickly and, as I thought for good. A couple of months ago I tried again and had expensive wool that didn’t go well with the pattern, so I decided to try crochet instead. But seeing the Phildar magazine at my local sewing supply store, I was tempted to give knitting one last try. I chose this sweater because it seemed pretty straightforward. It was, but being knitted on a 3,5 mm needle, it still took forever to get finished. I’m really happy I chose this yarn, as the stripes do a really good job at hiding the irregularity of my stitches. The fit is a little wider than I thought it would be, but I think the picture was a bit misleading. It fits well at shoulders and chest and flares a bit on the way down from there (which didn’t really show in the picture). After all I’m rather proud of having made my first wearable knitted garment. It might just make me want to do it again in autumn ;)
Phildar (? the tag says ‘Penguin’ or something like that, but they only sell Phildar yarns at that place) marble yarn , 3 and 3,5 mm knitting needles

This is so good. I’m really impressed, I can only knit scarves! I have been wanting to try to knit a jumper but have been put off but seeing this has inspired me!

I can’t knit, only crochet, and even then I can only makes scarves. The fact that you chose, started, completed and can actually wear your knitted garment is pretty rewarding in itself. My mother knits, she’s incredible. You did a wonderful job, keep stichin’!
