Description

When it’s cold I love to wear wool-garments and when I found this nice pink-lilac knitted wool fabric I fell in love with it.. First I made an easy dress with pattern from Sabina 03/2011. Since the fabric is knitted I didn’t have to use a zipper at the back.
For the cardigan I’ve used pattern from Burda 03/2012 and I like this a lot and have made a black and an offwhite cardigan earlier.
Since I didn’t have enough of the knitted pink fabric I added stripes of a soft black knitted fabric I had in my stash. It’s really warm and I love it :)

Material Notes

Knitted wool fabric.

The ensemble is great as always, the colour is awesome and I remember your previous project which I like very much as well and I agree with all the girls. I only wonder if made of knits, the edges of the cardigan are not very stretching.

Thanks for your lovely words Oksana! Knits are stretchy, but not as much as jersey, so I made a double layer like you usually do for a sweater – and the nice thing; it keeps my hands warm! ;-)

This is a clever outfit- I really like that you added a stripe when you didn’t have enough fabric and it all looks just perfect.

Now that you mention it, I may have to agree. Although, you now have two really neat outfits instead of one. :-)

Both garments are fantastic Ellen, what could be better than woolen garments for cold days. The black stripe in the cardigan adds a cute design!

I totally agree with Mary, she said it all ! I’m so amazed by your quickness, a few new stylish garment every week , bravo ! I have no idea when I’m going to sew. My sewing machines are stored in a storage place right now. I won’t be back in the desert till April. I don’t know how much you gathered from my FB page, but we’re in a transition to full time RV lifestyle. Sold the condo, traveled to South Dakota to buy the truck, that silver beauty, very fond of it already, and waiting for the fifth wheel to be built . Mean time we’re staying in our very best friend’s condo, and try to stay warm. So that’s why I’m not posting and not sewing at all. I will probably have to relearn how to sew again !!!!

This is a smashing two piece outfit Ellen. I think the cardigan outer layer looks great with the added black stripe. You look smart warm and so stylish. Love this outfit. X
