This is another knitted and felted Fedora that I made within 2 days.
My daughter is wearing it on the picture.
As promised, I added a tutorial how to make such a hat.
You need a few skills in knitting, the pattern is worked in stockinette stitch (circular needles).
Have fun!

Thank you so much for this post. I don’t knit, but I’m going to attempt to make this hat out of an old sweater…..so nervous. I’m curious about the shaping part. Do you only get it wet with water, or do you use fabric stiffener as well?

Hello, thanks for your comment. I am sorry, I don’t have any experience with cotton hats (your sweater is cotton?) This technique I’m talking about works only with new wool. It shrinks and is stiff. You don’t need any stiffener. Cotton does not shrink and is soft. If you want to sew a cotton hat, you better get a sewing pattern. Then I would prefer a stabilizer like Peltex/Pellon (to iron on), which is used when making handbags.

you are welcome, Adriana. I hope my tutorial is understandable, I translated it into English but I’m not familiar with English knitting instructions. Hope it will work, if not, please ask me. Season greetings from Philomenia!
