Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is one of my Final Project pieces for my Fashion Design course at college.
I am at the end of my first year and currently preparing two outfits for the fashion show, just over a week away. ‘60s Space Age’ was my chosen theme for the project, and whilst it has presented a number of challenges and difficulties, I have really enjoyed the whole process!
My original plan was to finish all the pieces and publish them as a collective, but was so excited and relieved that this helmet was finally finished (it took about 4 days of constant knitting to make) that I just had to show you guys now!
My aim was to create something inspired by some of the wacky headgear worn in the 60s, but through knitting, as this was my chosen textile to explore. It is my most ambitious knit so far and I’m pleased with the result :)
