Description

My first time using knit/jersey fabric to make the cowl dress. I was a bit worried about using the fabric as i’m used to normal old cotton that does what its told but found using the knit fabric suprisingly easy! The only problem I had was trying to cut the pattern out, actually trying to line up the fold properly. But luckily as I was using a plain fabric that doesn’t have a rib it didn’t matter too much.

Just some tips that I picked up from the site etc:
1) As I don’t have an overlocker, I just used a zigzag stitch (length 3mm, width 0.5mm) and seam allowance 1cm
2) I used just a normal needle, no need for a special needle
3) Use polyester thread
4) When adding the “facing” to the back of the neck I pressed it to make it easier to deal with
5) I’m actually a size 40 (not tiny like the pattern!). I just added 5cm to one side of the pattern (includes 1cm seam allowance, only added to one side as pattern is “cut 1 on fold”)

Material Notes

100% cotton jersey
