Kelvin Grove, Au...
a few years ago i bought a great grey striped knit but not very much of it. i desperately wanted to make a dress\tunic with it so i decided to combine a vintage pattern with a built by wendy pattern resulting in this end product. The reason it was a nightmare? it was one of my first knit attempts; i cut the pattern way to big so I had to take it in several times (and by the looks of the pictures I could do with taking it in again); the V neckline at the back was not easy; i cut the neckline too big which in turn made the V stretch out too wide – hench the crocheted strap across the back; the front diamond panel was very fiddly; my topstitching was very crappy so it’s good you cannot see it. However, despite the nightmare i quite like the dress – it’s a little bit different and extremely comfortable. I really don’t think the photos do it justice but that could be me in denial that it’s not as good as a think it is. What do you think?
