Description
A warmer holiday party dress with a draped skirt and asymmetric neckline. And pockets.
Edit: for those interested, I drafted this from my personal sloper, taking the sleeves from a commercial knit dress pattern (since I never quite got those right). I then draped the skirt on my dress form. This being my first time really working with a knit, I ran into all sorts of issues where the waist was all droopy and in the wrong spot, requiring serious reworking of the pattern. Thanks! I actually drafted the majority and draped the rest of it, so no pattern available for those of you interested, unfortunately. Here’s a flickr photo of the original pieces .. be aware that it later required both reducing and raising the waist by a few inches with all the corresponding bodice and skirt adjustments.
But, I imagine you could put it together with a combination of a tshirt pattern, a pleated skirt pattern, and some judicious experimentaiton.
