Description
As soon as we saw the pattern for these pants, my buddy knew he had to have them, for you won’t find these are pants in a lot of mens wardrobes.
We tried the balancing act of making a piece that would be wearable nowadays without it being to much old fashioned. Hopefully something timeless. We chose a light wool blend to keep the resemblance to tweed and did some changes from the original.
- Did some lining in front
- Changed from zipper fly to button fly
- Changed buttons on knee band to buckles
- Added more belt loops for better fit
For sure it’s not for every man to wear, but we think it turned out quite ‘up-to-date’. And if not, it’s absolutely hilarious to see peoples range of reactions… you can read more about it at my blog
Material Notes
Tweed wool blend, rayon lining, buckles, jeans buttons, interfacing, sewing thread

These knicks are spot on!! Do you have another pattern other than the women’s pattern that’s on this site?

Love ‘em, they’re so fine! I think they’d be awesome for riding round town on a bicycle (by which I mean a velorbis =) especially if made with stretch fabric and with elastic around the calves instead of butons. Good job.

These are beautifully made! And real stylish, I like that kind of old-worldy feel to them. I wish more men dressed like this!

Thank you so much Ralf, this means a lot to me coming from a craftsman like you. Probably you won’t get as much attention in cosmopolitan Berlin as I did in our ‘little’ town. :-)

Bopippdo thanks, but I don’t intend to go to the Oktoberfest, besides for that some Lederhosen would be better. ;-)

Thanks laurwyn. You’re right, haven’t thought of Tintin myself. Only I’m lacking a white fox terrier and the quiff… at least I’ve got my little brown bear.
