Description

I made this for a good friend for the Klausenday. It’s made out of a carpet, and I didn’t use a pattern, I just sewed very easy parts together, that a coat comes out. Actually you couldn’t make a very good pattern, because the carpet isn’t very proper…
Sorry for the bad picture, I don’t have a better one =)

For everybody who doesn’t know about this traditon:
The Klausenday is a traditon here in the very south of Bavaria, in the Allgäu. Young men are dressing like in the picture above with big cow bells and have birchs with them. It’s in the night from the 5th December and in the past it was to drive away bad ghosts.
Today the younger children go out and irritate the “Klausen” and if they aren’t fast enough, they get a birching…

I agree with ArtNinja14!!!!!! Way to go for traditions! So much more interesting than australia. As schnui said, we would probably get locked up. Damn.

Lovely story and how wonderful to keep your traditions going. I think in Australia we would be locked up with such a tradition.
