I made this cover for my new organizer (calendar/schedule book). perimeter of cover is top-stitched using a red top stitching thread. Cat has fusible interfacing on the back to prevent fraying, and is hand-appliqued (raw-edge applique) using a small running stitch. Blogged about it here
scrap medium-weight cotton I had lying around; cermeuse fusible interfacing for the cat.
