Description

I created this for my friend who wanted a spirithood jacket but they had sold out. I added the hood, and, of course, the kitty ears. I wish i had extended the self facings a bit so the hood would have been more fabulous, but it was definitely a learning experience. It was so much fun to make! It looks more like a real coat and less like a bath robe when worn.

The directions were super confusing, so I just went with my best knowledge and didnt let them stump me for too long. The ears were definitely the hardest part, because, after making the first one perfectly by sheer luck, I could not make a second one that looked even remotely similar for the life of me. I made seven ears! In the end I had to get it shipped out. She loves it and is looking forward to wearing it home after parties in the chilly Portland winter.

Material Notes

The fur was SO SOFT and pretty easy to work with, as long as I cut it from the back and made sure the nap was in the right direction. The best part about fur is how you can just draw all over the back of it in sharpie (even though its white!) Definitely makes marking the fabric easier.
