I’d downloaded pixelink’s Kimono Tee pattern for a while and finally had a chance to try it out. I wanted to try this pattern in chiffon, because of its flowiness and ability to drape. So, when I found this very affordable chiffon in the ‘Clearance’ section of Spotlight, I quickly snapped it up.
I omitted the bottom casing and drawstring tie, and instead shortened the top and added a wide hem. I used a self-made bias binding for the neckline.
I gave it to mum for Christmas (thanks for modelling mum!) and because of the sheer nature of the chiffon, a singlet top was worn underneath. I think the black singlet top underneath highlights the grey brush-stroke pattern of the chiffon wonderfully.
Chiffon (from the Clearance section of Spotlight : $3.00/ metre – I love a bargain!)
