My second attempt at pixelink’s Kimono Tee pattern. I was pretty happy with my first attempt, Kimono Tee in chiffon but this one for my sister’s Christmas present was an absolute fail.
My downfall was my poor fabric choice, the cotton that I picked was far too stiff for the flowiness of this pattern. I had been tempted by the cute print on the cotton (see last pic) and I let this overshadow my common sense and judgement when it came to assessing the drape of the fabric. Consequently, the sleeves stick out in a most unnatural manner and the overall look of the garment reminded me of theatre scrubs (see pic 3.)
Luckily, my stylish and resourceful sister was able to salvage this top by casually folding up those stiff, dreaded sleeves. The result? Much better! (Thanks sis.)

I think it looks cute! I don’t think it’s a failure at all. I’m inspired enought to download the pattern and try it myself.
