I took some elements from Naomi pattern 6015 by Kasia 26 to create this Asian inspired hoodie.
I was going to print the Naomi original pattern but I ran out of ink (50s page!)
so I used Burda-nov.2007/ 126
instead.
I like that the jacket has no side seams,
there are only 2 pattern pieces, bodice and
sleeves and that’s it.
how to make kimono sleeves out of this pattern but
I’m quite happy that I could keep the overlapp center
front and curve hems like the Naomi.
The sewn line on upper bust was
fake, I just tucked in the fabric and sew (made the
armholes smaller a little bit, fixed the sleeve pattern accordingly)
Please ignor the blue skirt, I was too lazy to take it off from the dress form.
microsuede (originally a duvet cover)

Oh wow, JJ, this is BRILLIANT! I love so much how the original burda pattern is “one piece”, (isn’t smart?) but it is a little plain, you have improved it so much by changing the hem shape and front part to Kasia’a. I also love the row of stitching that looks like a seam, and the fabric, and the belt, everything.

I really love this. It’s incredible! I’d love any pointers! I’m a little booked up too with jacket ideas, but I really want to create this. I often think “ooh i like so and so’s this or that, but i would make it shorter, longer, with this fabric, or that lining…” but I wouldn’t change a thing on yours. Its perfect!

It is great JJ! I love this version. The hood is a great idea and the lining maches great the style of the jacket. Love the belt as well. I am working on the light, BurdaStyle version right now, but I might do something simillar to yours for next fall. (I just have a spring/summer fever right now)

You’ve done it again JJ! Another gorgeous creation :-) I haven’t got all the pieces of naomi togther yet…65 pages is hard work! I love the hood on your jacket (I’m a hoodie girl) so I might have to add on to the Naomi. Great work, very inspiring!
