This gorgeous fabric finally has a wear-able form in this skirt. The hem is scalloped, matching the lovely embroidered floral motif. This thought was inspired by Tilly Vanilly’s tutorial on scalloping edges: http://www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2010/11/two-or-three-things-i-know-about.html. The hem is uncut—side seams, like large darts, come to a few inches above the hem. I wanted the repeat to be untouched and the waistline to be fitted. The skirt will be paired with the ready-made corset in an upcoming fashion show.
