  ive never sewn a dress before i have some help but dont know how to make this for someone who wears a 20/22 plus size can you help me on how to make bigger?

  Can someone answer for me how the front-side piece and front piece for together? When you look at the photos of the dress, the dress rounds out and curves down around the back to perfectly meet the back piece. However, when you follow the instructions and you pin the pieces together and lay the front facing piece on it, the pattern comes up to a point at the corners of the bodice where the back will meet. Ive checked the pattern quite a few times and I’ve cut it out correctly. No errors there. It’s like something is wrong in the pattern. Help!

  Hi, I am a complete beginner at dress making, and whilst I realise this is going to be a challenge, I would rather get stuck in to making something that i will use. I understand the pattern, but the one question I have at this stage, is how do I alter the pattern to make different sizes? Is there a way of converting the measurements of waist, bust etc to ensure the dress fits?

  This dress is so adorable and I want to try make it. This will be my first project alone since I was about 12. Long time ago. I have printed the pattern and now need help with the construction of the bodice. I cant seem to understand how it fits together. Can some one please give me more details how it fits together.

  thank you SO much for this pattern. The hardest thing i’ve made, had to sew some parts even 4-5 times but in the end.. I love the dress so much. Been looking for this 50s look for a long time and now for my 3rd dress in my life, I found this. Made it a bit shorter, didn’t fit in the size 36 upper body but found a solution and in the end got amazing piece of art. Will make pretty pictures with myself in it and then show what you’ve helped to create :) Thank you thousand times. You made my day :)

  Hi there, I love this pattern but I am having trouble sewing the bodice.

  In what order to you sew the front, front face, and lining together? Do you sew the lining to the front face first, and then that to the front? Or do you sew the front to the front face and then the lining to that? And do you cut notches as well as clips?

  I’m trying to figure the skirt instructions out: you cut it on a fold on both sides of the skirt? How is that possible? It also seems a bit small for only one piece to be cut on the fold, even for a size 34. Am I missing something?

    Hello and sorry for my english but I’m trying to explain you.

    This is a circle skirt. You must to carry forward the patern to obtain a circle (the skirt is in one piece). I didn’t know if I’m clear. With this methode, you obtain around one meter of straight (but you make fold when you make up).

  So I just finished putting the bodice together, and its all fitting wonderfully. So yeah, I stand by my photocopy enlargement method!

  I made this pattern larger by printing it at home, then photocopying enlargements of each page at 120% on legal paper. I’m a 38 in size generally, and the pattern printed out again 1cm larger all the way around. If anyone has access to a photocopier this is what i recommend.

  I love this dress pattern, but do you have any plans on making it available in different sizes? I am a size 38 (6 US wise), and I have tried making the pattern bigger, but it always turns out to be a disaster! The tutorial you provided doesn’t help me since it was made for multi-size patterns.

    You can try on each side 1cm seam allowance to the existing pattern to make. and you can do something longer gums.
    Priobier it out! it should work. If necessary, I would adapt it to the body more precisely.
