  uhm .. a question …
  do we need more fabric to complete this variation?
  other than the 140width/190length for a size 6

  and also do we need more than the original 3 buttons?
  and do we still need the shoulder pads?

  Love the skirt and Obi styled wrap belt. I’d alter the collar a bit, but I also really like the color choice and fabric drape.

  Regarding the “unpressed” look of the suit – While I would generally agree with wanting a professionally finished look, the notes do say the fabric is linen. As one who sells linen (and wool and silk) and who encourages people to wash and really wear their linen, this look is characteristic of linen left in its natural state. I think a hard press might have seriously compromised the soft look of this suit. Perhaps a blend that sheds wrinkles a bit (linen/Tencel, perhaps?) might suit this commenter better. All in all, a lovely soft look.

  As far as I knew linen always creases easy. I really like the unironed look of it. Congratulations PrudenceRabbit. It was my favorite suit in the contest and it is exciting to see it in the professional shoot.

  Um, SewVeryTall, I’m sure it got wrinkled during the photoshoot. It’s linen I think, which gets wrinkled the first two seconds you wear it.. :P

  Hi Sewverytall,

  We actually ironed and and steamed this piece for probably over 40 minutes (switching off in between each other). The choice of the fabric (linen) was such, that it was impossible to get all creases out. We could have photoshopped it out, but then you would have not gotten the right picture about the fabric.

  Four people were hired to do this “professional photo shoot”, but nobody cared that the suit looks like it’s been slept in for a week. It’s truly a shame that someone couldn’t find an iron to give it a good press! I don’t like to be overly critical, but this is so far away from professional, it looks like the work of an impatient thirteen-year-old.

  I love this! It’s inspired me to sew for the first time in a few months. If I can pull off the project, I would wear this ALL the time at work. Classy, sassy, professional, creative. It would be my go-to outfit for big meetings. Nice work!
