Apart from the occasional English hat, I pretty much love everything Kate Middleton wears. When I saw the dress she wore to plant a tree in Canada this year, I had two thoughts: “wow, I love that back” and “WOW, I bet I can make a dress much like this.” My aunt was getting married some months after that, so I thought I’d have enough time to try and pull it off. I started from scratch, by making the pattern. My sewing instructor was of GREAT help as I had never sewn a collar before (actually, this is the second dress I’ve ever made). The gorgeous pink fabric was a gift from my mom. The whole dress cost me about US$0.60 for the zipper – and that was it. I may not look as good as Kate, but I am happy with the dress and I can say I had one of the most original outfits in that party (second only to a lady who was wearing white pants, a weird white lace top with huge shoulder pads and an incredible amount of pearls).

Super obrigada, Eli! Foi bom ler um elogio (parcialmente) em portugues!

You look even better, if you ask me, because most of celebrities and royals have a complete army of people around them to choose their looks and outfits, and you did your dress all by yourself, this gives you extra credit, don’t you think?

Beautiful dress and you can easily compete with Kate! (The last picture proves that some dresses benefit from an existing derriere :-) )
