I finally got around making this skirt. It was an easy project and with the elasticated waist I fits perfectly without alterations, except for the length (I added 2").

Did someone say elasticized? What? Where? That skirt isvso well sewn and is so super flattering on you!
Oh my gosh I didn’t realize that the back is elastic! So so gorgeous … The lines of the back are even more beautiful.

Do you think this pattern would make up well in a very heavyweight cotton? Its almost an outerwear weight – I picked it up at ikea! A winter white with charcoal grey graduated stripes in the center and at the selvedges. It might look very interesting if weight would work with this pattern. Its got a lot of body. I had thought originally to use it for a bag or jacket.
It’s not expensive but I like it lol. I don’t want to waste it on a doomed project. Thanks for any feedback on appropriate fabrics (from anyone!). Happy new year!

I think weight would not be a problem since my version is medium wool, I would be a bit more concerned about the lack of drape in cotton but the effect could be great!

Thanks for your feedback! I think I’ll try it… It drapes nicely – would definitely contribute structure to the piece I think. What the heck! I can always get more at Ikea. The way the stripes are placed on the fabric would work well with the design details at the hem and waist. And even if the drape is not ideal, it might still come together in an interesting way. Thanks for your response. I’m encouraged to try it and see what happens. Bonne anneé et bonne santé!!
