I had an eye on this gorgeous pattern from the day it was released! There were also very inspiring versions of it on the BurdaStyle’s website.
So I finally managed to make my version of this dress, with a little bit of different touch from my side :)
The shoulders are made in an origami style and the zipper is used as an exposed zipper. I LOVED how it turned out (I seriously consider sleeping with it until my enthusiasm wears off…)
and I definitely intend to sew another version quite soon.

Those sleeves are simply AWESOME. Would you mind very, very much if I made myself some too? Please?

Awesome interpretation of the Burda dress. Where did you get the idea to do the origami detail?

Thanks Linda! I saw another awesome blogger (Straight Grain) do a similar sleeve for her little daughter’s dress. you can find more information on it in my post here:

I also added a tutorial for the sleeves. you can also check that out if you like :)
