I was flicking through a clothes catalogue, saw a top like this, saw the price, and thought “I can do better than that”. I made this top out of a silky material, It has wide sleeves and pleats along the neckline. It is elasticated at the waist, and does up with one button at the back.
Green jungly print silky type material (rayon?).

this is gorgeous just the sort of thing that i spend ages trying to draft a pattern for and never end up making! i really admire tyour bravery in just going for it and cutting out basic shapes

Thanks, ladies! No, I didn’t use a pattern. You can probably see from the shape of the sleeves that it’s pretty square, and that’s basically it, I just cut out two squares, but cut out the front square with more material along the top edge so I could pleat it. Then when I tried it on, I took it in a little at each side to reduce the “sack” look. I’m quite proud of the fabric covered button as well, even if I say so meself :)
