Burda Style For people who sew
Description
My mother and I made this dress together for my wedding. it was a special experience to make it together. We took a 40’s silk slip and reshaped it until it was backless. Then we constructed the outer gown out of the silk gauze, belted with victorian pink silk ribbon from my mother’s stash.
No pattern was used, I just drew what I wanted and we broke out the scissors.

I thrifted a dress of a similar shape, but it’s not a wedding dress! I am amazed at how beautiful it is, you look so great in it! I like that you built in on a slip! Was the slip a special heirloom? Congratulations on the wedding :)
