Description

Dress made with Burda pattern 101, Ferbruary 2011. I altered it a bit, I made it a bit looser so that I´m able tu put it on without the zipper (I´m not a fan of zippers in dresses). The fabric has such a romantic name Josephine (I´m not sure it´s suitable for dresses, though..). I´m not sure I love this dress: the neckline is very low and wide, and I don´t know if the waistline is flattering on my short figure (those Burda pictures with tall and slim models are a bit misleading! :) I´m probably going to make this pattern again, but with some alterations. I made size 38 and it fits ok, I think, however it might be sligtly loose in the shoulders – I should have maybe fixed that.

I want to make this dress too :) I think that a really narrow belt on your natural waist will look cute.

it sometimes happens to me as well not only with Burda pattern, but still it looks cute on you, and I love your Josephine fabric!! :-)

Oh, so lovely! :-) I saw this dress in burdasytle magazine but I wasn’t sure about it – so it’s nice to see your creation. It looks much more attractive – did you shorten the skirt? I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong… Anyway – I love it this way, the fabric is beautiful and I like the shoulder area, too (even if I know, what you mean, but it looks really cute) :-)

Thank you! I had very little fabric (and it was a strange width), so I made the skirt with what was left, I didn´t measure anything :). I didn´t read any instructions for the skirt… I probably made it less wide and shorter (it´s just a rectangle).
I think this is a fabulous pattern for a formal dress. On a formal dress (for a ball etc.) I wouldn´t mind the neckline, big skirt and tight waist… in i.e. black or red…! :)

The fabric is a dream! Actually, I like the shoulder area. Maybe you could really put the waistline a little higher next time. But I think it looks lovely!

Your fabric is so beautiful! I always find that when a neckline looks cute on a Burda magazine model, it will be much too low cut at the front for me, and often too wide at the shoulders. I am yet to figure out how to make an alteration that fixes both these issues.

Já pod to asi budu nosti nějaké tílko…
