Burda Style For people who sew
Description
On our last morning in our home in China we woke up early, Jonathan and I, (and poor sweet photographer Dan) and we took pictures together. It was hot, and we were all a bit too tired and sad for pictures, but I had to take pictures of him with his dress. I was working on an embroidered bunny quilt and marveled at how long it was taking, when I realized that it would be so much easier if I could just screen print them on. With no screen print I did the next best thing… Sharpie… or the Chinese equivalent! :)

The rabbits are lovely, and they’ll be a good reminder of your old friend. Have you had any problems with the Sharpie’s bleeding? If not it’s a great trick to add to the tool-kit.

good question… initially when i tested on a piece of fabric not so tightly woven it bled like crazy… this one really had no problem… I washed my test strip too… stayed sharp, though I assume over time it may need a bit of a touch up… but it sure beats pulling out the old screen printing equipment… much faster! :)

i wish! so sad to say goodbye to such a good little friend. We found him a good home with one of our students… my husband and I still catch ourselves talking to him… aw… so sad!
