This lovely little number comes to us thanks to member joclin, a winner from our
Summer in the City competition. Depending on your fabric, you can make this top elegant and dressy or fun and casual, without even falling down the rabbit hole. We used a silk satin for the main self and belt, and silk charmeuse for the sleeves. Instead of Velcro, we used wide flat hook and eyes, with a big sparkly button on top. This top would also be very nice in light cottons. Thanks again, joclin!
silk satin, silk charmeuse, silk lining, 2 sets hook and eye, big button.

This is a really good basic that can be modified in several ways. I may start off without the sleeves and make it into a dress too.

It’s so exciting to see this as an actual garment with professional photography/styling/model! You guys did a lovely job, thanks so much … I can’t wait to make my own version and see what everyone else makes.

This IS adorable. I also think I would lengthen it to a dress, though.

this is SO cute. I think I might change the skirt so it’s a bit more a-line.

Camilauastral: I know perfectly well what you mean, I don’t like the “openness” of the darts either. I don’t think this would be flattering on my figure, considering my waist size is one size smaller than the rest, so I really don’t need to add fullness there… But apart from that, and that being mostly my personal preference, it’s really lovely! Great fabric choice indeed.

so good. I desided to sew a dress like this, and i was drawing it last night, but it has not finished yet. so I can use it . thank you very much.

I just love this! And it’s the first pattern I’ve seen posted in quite a while that actually gives a real sense of the garment…sometimes the pics are so abstract, I can’t get a good look at the lines and such.
I really dig the fabric choices, too!
I’ll absolutely be making this into a dress (as soon as I finish up the three other projects I’m working on!).
Great work!

this is really nice! i like it ;) but in don’t like very much the vertical darts, but i think they can be fixed by folowing the seams so they wont be open, right? (i speak spanish, it was hard to explain xD)
