Description

This dress was started off to wear to the Jessies (Vancouver’s version of the Tonys) but turned out to be not the right dress for such an evening occasion.

Read more about it on my blog: http://arsgratiaartis-shalyn.blogspot.com/2010/07/jessies-dress-no.html

Material Notes

Mystery light, gauzy fabric. It was another Dressew find where all of their discounted fabrics were a further 50% off, so it was $2/m.
Four buttons down the left side for closure.

I love the sleeves on this dress, and that fabric would be divinely breezy during humid summers. Where I live in Massachusetts, it’s frigid in the winter, but it’s brutally muggy come July.

What pattern did you use? It’s lovely, and it would also make a nice top if shortened a bit. Also, were the Jessies named for a woman, too? Because the Tonys are named for a woman named Antoinette.

The material is great for heat wave times.

I didn’t use a pattern as I drafted and draped everything for this dress.

The Jessies are names after Jessie Richardson, a major actress in Vancouver for many decades.
