I hate shopping for jeans because I can never find a pair that fits my short, short legs! (Kids jeans don’t work because I am kid-sized but not kid-shaped.) Enter the wonderful and wildly popular Jalie 2908 pattern for stretch jeans. Finally, jeans that fit, flatter, and don’t look (too) homemade! I’m never going to engage in the futile process of jeans shopping again :D
These are made up in dark stretch denim and topstitched with navy topstitching thread. Also used a jeans button and rivets.
More details on these and my PG-13 tribute to them on my blog.

YES they fit! I also tried to make jeans from my block trouseres pattern, but I didn’t yet succeed well enough (the crotch is too wide for a stretchy fabric and my alterations are just not good enough yet. But I’ll get there some day). Anyway, knowing how much fiddeling a GOOD fir requires, great job!

Just wanted to thank you for making my day – just went to your blog and it had me laughing out loud at work after a hard few weeks, including indefinite separation from my sewing machine and stash (!!!??ARG!) due to house moving fiasco. Love your creations and comments and look forward to following your blog and or nemesiss (nemeses?) blogs too! AND I will make those jeans ….one day…

These jeans look amazing! They fit you so well and are truly flattering! To me, at least, they do look professionally done and not at all home-made. Congratulations, for I know what a pain it can be to shop for jeans – I have the problem with shopping for jeans, but in reverse – no one seems to carry “tall” sizes and even when they do (and in my size) some of them end up being too short anyway. I’ll have to consider the pattern really seriously!

Your jeans are amazing! I just cut out this same pattern today. I am going to make a pair for my 5 year old 1st. If I mess up too bad, I wouldn’t have lost a whole lot of fabric! If all goes well, I am going to make mine. I’ll post daughter’s in the very near future.

Thanks! Hahah, it’s never too cold for an outdoor photo shoot! It was, however, too dark for one :)
