Description

After seeing the movie The Book of Eli once again had me thinking about what jeans I would wear in the post-apocalypse world.
For a start, they would need to be durable with no zips or clips that would not be replaceable-buttons only. Stitches need to hold- triple or quadruple would be good. Maybe a secret pocket (for lip balm- a scarce commodity in Eli, or for antibiotics.
Pocket for a knife. Heel guards. Extra pockets. Heavyweight denim. Button fly.
So I made them. (My own pattern).

(Oh, I’d wear my peachoo+ krejberg coat too-has that post apocalypse look)

      Thanks so much.

I have a old (almost dead) Singer 6233 and a Janome Mylock.

      New sewing machine next week!

okay… and this machine is able to work with jeans yarn/thread???? I mean the 50. Or don’t you use it?
Just for this thread, I get myself a Pfaff 230 which realy works good on that.

I had no problems with these machines through denim but I didn’t use jean thread.
Getting a Pffaf 1142 next week

Ew I loooooove these :) They look so well-finished, ready for hard times. Love them rivets too, I never could find any that look good enough to put on my jeans. Nice touch with putting your label on them. When you make stuff as good as you do, you have to do that or people will never believe you made it yourself :)

Is that antibiotics pocket (ok ok , the lip balm pocket) situated at the bottom of the leg? It’s not very clear from me on that picture, but I do like a hidden pocket :) Totally going to rip off that idea from you by the way, sorry man ;-)

Waiting for your ‘seal of approval’… thanks so much. I appreciate the comment. Luckily you can’t see that pocket- check my blog (urbandon.blogspot.com/) and you will see it second last photo.

      Rip away!!!

I did check your blog and that’s where I saw the picture. But I wasn’t a 100% sure that I was reading it correctly, so that’s why I asked if it was at the bottom of the leg. But I’m pretty sure it is :)

Great jeans, again! I like pants with buttons, much more practical than zipper.
