Description

This is my Colette outfit! I had to make some major alterations to the Jasmine to get it to fit, but the Ginger was fairly straight forward, although I did use a few couture touches to make it a bit special such as Hong Kong binding and a hand picked zip! I really love this outfit and the pieces are just so versatile I know I’ll be making more! Check out the blog for all the construction deets! http://coutureacademic.wordpress.com/2013/07/07/colette-a-rama/

This outfit is lovely and after reading your detailed blog about making the major adjustments to the Jasmine blouse, I may consider it again. I have made 2 but only posted one and I call it my ’Not Happy Jan ’ top. The pattern was definitely not made to suit me but I really love the pattern and especially so when I see yours. Maybe when I have plenty of time, I will nail all the adjustments. Thanks for all your advice on your blog, I really appreciate it.

Heya! Thanks for the comment and complements! I’m so glad my fitting woes could help someone else with theirs. Give her one more red hot go and hopefully you’ll nail it! The pattern really is pretty, I didn’t want to bin it either, so you just gotta try and try until you get it! Draping it on my dummy was a real help. Hopefully it’ll become your Happy Jan top :)

Great outfit! I’m with you on the hand-picked zippers. I never use a machine for that anymore. So much easier to hand sew it in!
