A friend (Jane) sent buttons from Canada all the way to Benin.
What better thing thing to make than gold print pants with Vlisco fabric using Lisette patterns? And then a top made with secondhand sheets and leftover gold print fabric for a contrast?
Then a mutual friend (Frances) came to visit and I decided to debut my outfit at the three story Dantokpa fabric market in Cotonou.
This is what I love most about sewing: the weaving of my present life in Benin with my past friends either through visits or surprise buttons in the mail!
