I just finished reading Jane Erye for the first time and I think this blouse, with its delicate grey fabric and ruffly collar, is inspired by it!
The pattern is McCall’s M5977 and it was really easy to make. More info on my blog: The Fabled Needle (Blog).
cotton voile, Petersham ribbon (rayon grosgrain)

Thank you! I have yet to see the latest movie, I really wanted to read the book first. What about a whole wardrobe based on the book, wouldn’t that be lovely? is your dress on BurdaStyle? I’ll have to step over to your profile and check. :)

I probbaly wouldn’t have picked that pattern, but the way you turned it into a work of art makes you run to get it. It looks a genuine vintage, so delicate, so much thought put into it!

Thank you! :) I love finding modern patterns that I can vintage-ify. I think the trick is to look at the schematic (line drawing, in case you weren’t familiar with the term!) on the back to truly envision the possibilities. Sometimes the unsophisticated styling and fabric used on the pattern cover doesn’t do much for it. ;)
