Crawley, United ...
I made this dress about 2 weeks ago, but had no time to post it :)) So…it’s made of soft jade chiffon, with embroidered ’’collar’’ in front and another small decoration at the back.
I had in mind something you could wear at a beach party, or at a summer wedding… I used cotton lining-my favorite for the hot weather- and I didn’t let it as wide as the chiffon, as it would’ve looked too ‘’bag-y’‘. I made the lining a bit on the body and it actually gave a more interesting see-through effect.
I made symmetrical pleats in front, below the ’’collar’’ and gathered the chiffon at the back. The zip is on the side.
I found the embroideries at a vintage shop, while looking for inspiring items :))
I used the Burda pattern called Smocked Maxi-Dress 02/2013 #104, but made few changes.
Thanks for watching!
