I am working on my spring 2011collection and pattern drafted my first jacket. After doing this, I realized, I need to find a fit model. I feel pretty confident with my first draft, just a couple of minor problems. The shoulders are 1/2" wider than what they need to be and the bust curve needs to be redistributed between the front 2 seams. This was my first draft of a garment with sleeves since college. I didn’t line it, but once the shell is to what I want it to be, I will be lining it. What do you think?

is the top stitching a metallic thread..a gold or copper…can’t tell from the pics? if copper…I think a coppery lining would look amazing…nice job….can’t wait to see more items you make:)

It’s denim thread I got from doing a job for Levis during SXSW several years ago.

I would be glad to wear it, and I agree with Keren. Maybe I’d prefer it with buttons matching the thread…

I was thinking of using a broach at the neckline for a decorative closure.

I like it! I like the shape of it and the color and the detailing (the brownish thread for the seams). Since it is cropped, it would probably look more flattering on a thin model. It would be cool to see this jacket in a full length! Anyway, I think it’s great! Love the puffy sleeves!

Thanks, my next jacket will probably be a longer modification of this with a full skirt and tie waist.
