This is a skirt made from the Kasia #6012 pattern. Love this pattern! Very flattering, and quite an ingenious/elegant construction with the zipper hidden behind the front bib. Little details like the gathering on the front and back hip yoke sections really make this look fashion-forward. I highly recommend this pattern.
I had stumbled upon these adorable little silver metal buttons with trains on them and decided to build the “theme” of the skirt around that. I used some stretch suiting I had in my stash, and then bought gray broadcloth and red bandana print quilting cotton to “engineer” the project. I have to give design credit to my mom—the red bandana and the gray contrast were really her suggestions.
Gray stretch/cotton (?) suiting; quilting cotton, cotton broadcloth, fusible interfacing, silver buttons (6)
