Oh, how I love it… And I loved making it :)
The only problem is that it is not my age-appropriate :(
It is based on Wide Sleeved Dress No.112 from BurdaStyle magazine 09/2011. However there are some variations in my project:
I did not sew pockets as I see absolutely no point in them.
I also did two lines of close zigzag stitches on the front of the dress, as straight stitches looked scruffy. I would recommend to keep front as a whole as any sort of stitching would divert attention from sleeves, and they are AWESOME!!!
It also seems like a good idea to wear this dress with a belt.

Its’ nice! Make it just a bit shorter, wear it with boots and a nice wrap cardigan, and it’s totally twenties-appropriate! I just bought a bottle of the perfume I used to wear in High school, I’m 38 now, I loved it then and I still do. It’s definitely more geared towards a 30-something than a teenager, but it still worked for me back then. Same thing with clothes, I say: wear what you like, if you like it it probably suits you!

What a lovely dress! Love the fabric – does it need to be a bit stretchy so you can get in and out of it? theres some lovely slik in a shop in brighton near me but it ain’t stretchy!!

In the description something was mentioned about stretch… But as long as your hips fit in it, it does not have to be stretchy…

Age appropriate as in… too young?… too old? I think this dress is beautiful, and ageless :D

Oh, wow. That must be so fun to wear, with that fabric and those fabulous sleeves. It makes me want to put it on and gesture dramatically with a long, fancy cigarette holder.
