I never really know how I come across things on craft blogs. One thing leads to another… Anyways, I found this tutorial last week and next thing I knew I was buying the interfacing and making it. I actually did need to buy some orange buttons to make the tree look more fall like. My little girl pestered me for a week wondering when her “button shirt” would be done. Talk about motivation. I was a little concerned about not sewing the tree on the shirt, but I was afraid that sewing it would mangle the tree. I have since washed it in the regular wash (hang dry) and it looks just as good as when I made it.
long sleeved cream coloured shirt, lite steam a seam, small piece of brown quilting cotton, random buttons and thread

That is part of the fun of having kids! There are so many neat things to make them. It is nice to have ideas like this around so that you can make cool things for other people’s kids too.

I know, the funniest thing was having to go out and buy some orange buttons to accentuate the "fall"ness of the project. I had none in my stash. At least the other buttons came from my collection! Thanks!
