It IS a sham. The back of one. The front was HIDEOUS. I am currently repurposing as much as I can of my late mother’s wardrobe that was not in donatable condition. There was only the one lonely sham and there were small holes in it from the pulling on the ties. I used no pattern. I cut for an empire seam where the small holes were and had 2 short rectangles and 2 long. I based the widths on her measurements, added a button loop to the back, which I learned to do from my last project. I used the sham’s ties as the top’s ties and front bow. There was enough fabric left from the cut down width for pockets, to which I added the leftover ties as bows. I just found the other sham, so this may become a tiered dress or a pair of shorts. I’m not into allover prints, so probably the dress.
I am just updating after adding instructions on how to make this top. Enjoy!
