So, yet another bed spread project. Yet another dress with a big red bow. But finally another pattern from tomoko nakamichi’s pattern magic. vol 1. Titles the knot dress.
Pretty simple pattern. Didnt take much time at all. But im loving the shape of these 1960’s type dresses. They are super cute and fun. Thhhhennnn….add a big bow on the front, and who couldn’t be happier? __
Scored the bed spread in an op shop, and have had it sitting there a while trying to figure out what pattern would show off all the different pictures on it the best. Originally i was going to make this dress out of some gorgeous red/pink/white checkered thick silk which i got in bali, but unfortunately, after making the pattern, it was the slightest bit too small :( i also though the print of the fabric was bold and fun enough to compliment the 1960’s A frame shape. But had to go through my stash and find something more suitable. Im very glad with the end result. Do i need to grow up?…..Im thinking not quite yet… The dress has facing for the arm holes and neckline, and has no zip (is alot of fun to slide into lol…)
Anyway’s, this dress was super quick and enjoyable to make, i really need to buy the new Pattern Magic books! So much fun awaits me….
OH! and i even made a little pokeball hair clip to match ~.^
Hope you enjoy it as much as i do!
P.s. Title is a pokemon quote…
P.p.s like my new melissa’s?!?!?!

OMG. This is the best thing ever! I am so jealous! I don’t think I’d have the guts to wear it outside but I’d probably wear it indoors all the time. You look fantastic and the hair clip just finishes off the outfit perfectly! x

I was going to mention your Melissa!!! Being Brazilian, I always focus on Brazilian items on pictures I see. I think your project is super fun and it’s always cool to read the things you write. You seem to be a funny girl. Keep up the good work!

Ruffles – you are the best!!! This is about the coolest dress ever. (Think I might have to make myself a Star Wars dress now. The best part would be to see the look on my boys faces!)
